DOSAGES FOR PETS/HUMANS

Diets, meds, supplements, amount of food to give, etc. for pets are calculated by the weight of the animal.

Can anyone explain to me why the amount and time to take prescriptions, supplements, etc. are the  same for humans, whether they weigh 90 pounds or 290 pounds?

Maybe diets do not work because they do not calculate the amounts of foods to the weight of the person and then modify it as weight is released.
