Thinking back when I had the perfect weight - I asked the Universe - WHAT HAPPENED?
Right after that was a commercial for fast food and a woman eating while she was walking. Commercials showing people shoving food in their mouth in the boardroom, at the office desk, walking the dog, in bed, driving, being arrested on crime shows - WHAT HAPPENED TO SITTING DOWN AT A TABLE AND HAVING 3 SQUARE MEALS A DAY??? THAT IS WHEN MY WEIGHT WAS PERFECT.
Even diets have you shoving food in your mouth every 3 or so hours. FOOD, FOOD, FOOD - all day long. Then when you are stressed out with your health - drug commercials say you can pop a pill to solve that problem with the only side effect - death - which will come sooner or later anyway.
It just occurred to me today that a few years ago, I had also wondered why eating a proper meal was not a priority in my life. Too busy - bull, there are so many modern conveniences that make life easier and faster to do things. In the days of washing laundry by hand, carrying water and wood into the house, plowing the field with a horse, etc. - THAT WAS THE TIME - THERE WAS NO TIME. It is apparent that we just do not want to take the time to sit down for a meal - even for our own health. 3 squares a day and I naturally released 30 pounds in two years. And yes, there are sweets and carbs in my diet.
Doesn't it waste MORE TIME to drive to the fast food place, wait in line, PAY MORE money for the food - than just make a meal at home before you leave? Wolfing down the food must have some effect on digestion for chewing does create an enzyme that aids in digestion. What effect is there when that enzyme isn't added to the food?
If you can sit down for 2 or more hours per day on the computer or watching TV, you can also make the time to eat a meal at the table.
