KIDS AND DRUGS

The thought about one of the reasons kids resort to using drugs came after watching drug commercials on TV - just too many commercials in one evening.  There is a drug for EVERYTHING.  According to them, you don't have to work at solving a problem, you don't have to eat/sleep/exercise - just take a pill and the problem is solved.  That is, if you don't listen to the side effects of the pills.

So, after a lifetime of taking pills, why should kids when facing emotional or mental problems not resort to taking a drug when they are older.  They have no clue on how to handle these problems - just subliminally taught with a lifetime of training  that  pills and drugs are the answer.

There are NO MAGIC bullets! Problems a re not SOLVED with drugs, they're just treated. People have LOST the art of COMMON SENSE! BBB

You are young. I have traveled this life sojourn longer than you and when I was young I was taught that Common Sense is not Common.

Bob, not only common sense is becoming extinct but also thinking and doing. More and more relying on government and machines to think for you. It does scare me but then I read blogs from people like you and I feel all is ok, there are thinkers, creators, doers, and feelers still around.

Angel, you are really an angel...You keep calling my young! Because of that, I'm going to try to wend you a WESTERN-UNION HUG-A-GRAM!!
You should ALWAYS keep the government in check. People seem to keep forgeting that!!
Unless we'vwe done something wrong, we don't have to answer to THEM......THEY HAVE TO ANSWER TO US!! We should all think things out more and use reason! That's the art of common sense!

I agree, the government sucks and if it wasn't for the people, their would not be a government!!! That is right, they have to answer to US :)

Gotta get this off my chest. Today, spent time, my time with a distraught mother whose 13 year old, the perfect child, SUCCUMBED TO THE WILL OF "BAD" KIDS AND HAS BEEN TAKING DRUGS.

Needed to get something for her out of her medicine cabinet. Get this! Prescriptions made out for her mother - pills to take when you get up, pills to go to sleep, pills when you are depressed, pills to calm you down. Gee, I wonder why her child thinks drugs are the answer.

Plus, when this girl was a baby, she was put on riddlin, or however you spell it, PLUS, their 6 mo. old puppy is also on riddlin - because it played and jumped and didn't sleep all day.

Sure - it has to be the fault of the other kids. In a pig's eye.
