The first full day of Summer turned out to be a
warm Saturday... BUT, the weekend won't end that way. Here we go again
with showers and thunderstorms. They have been an off-and-on occurrence
for nearly the last two weeks. As you know, some have been strong to
locally severe causing extensive damage, whether it be from winds or
hail or lightning.
It might happen again on Sunday as various
weather fronts converge on our viewing area. It will mainly cloudy and
humid. Temperatures will generally be in the 70s to near 80 degrees.
There will be a threat of showers and thunderstorms at just about
anytime, any place through the course of the day. Some may contain
strong winds, cloud to ground lightning and flooding downpours.
The
same weather systems will still be in close proximity on Monday so we
may be going through it, yet again. Some sun is possible with muggy
highs in the 80s. The most active time for the thunderstorms would be
during afternoon and evening hours. They usually calm down somewhat
overnight (although that hasn't necessarily been the case lately!).
Tuesday
may not be quite as active but we can't rule out a thunderstorm or two,
mainly during the afternoon and evening. At least the humidity should
begin to drop on Tuesday as highs reach 80-85.
For now, I'm
keeping the Wednesday and Thursday forecast dry. Any activity would be
isolated at worst. With more sunshine, expect highs to climb toward the
mid 80s.
And then....thunderstorms could be back, Thursday night into Friday.
