FINALLY HERE!!

 

Will it make it a bit safer on the roads of New Jersey ? ? ? ? ?

 

Will it be a bit safer for me? When I cycle on my bicycle? That is a BIG question.

 

Will people driving take a BIG chance holding a cell phone (talking/texting) and drive at the same time? Chance of getting a $100 to $130 ticket???

 

I have been getting close calls by drivers talking on cell phone. Will soon find out during the next few days.

 

I am glad it is here!! Are you? Or are you one of them people that drives talking and texting while driving???

 

GREAT TIMING!!!  Becuase I start training for a Multiple Sclerosis bike tour.

 

SO PLEASE STOP talking and or texting while driving.

On my way back home friday morning. Was going north on the Garden State Parkway. Some drivers with cars, vans and SUV do not clean the roof well. Because I have seen a few close calls of ice hitting other cars on the parkway.

 

Example:  A van going south on the parkway. Ice and snow flew off and almost went into a car going north. This was near the median. The concrete that seperate north and south bound.

 

Is there a law that you have to clean entire card, van and SUV.

 

It is a danger when you leave snow and ice on the roof of the car, van and suv. Someone behind them drivers can get hurt and could create a bad accident. While the driver that caused the trouble leaves the scene.

 

BE SAFE OUT THERE!!!

 

 

 

 

Please be careful out on the road sunday. As it could be slippery and may have ice on the roads. Depending on where you live in New York and New Jersey.

 

Have your ears open for traffic reports and check the weather if you still decide on going out the road.

I hope this law becomes law for sure. A few people I know will not be happy if this becomes law.

 

NOT holding the cell phone and NOT cell phone texting while driving could become law by March 1, 2008. Still going through the phases as I last heard.

 

I am a cyclist. Have been a cyclist most of my life. I am pretty careful when I cycle on my bicycle. Always on the lookout for trouble. So I can be safe on the road.

 

Have noticed over the years . . . . more and more cars. Some drivers not paying attention or not doing the right things while driving. Then the cell phone age comes. Making things much worse then it is. Cell phones and cell texting is the worse thing out on the road for the 21st century. Cell and driving does not mix. Okay . . . . holding a cell  to talk while driving and texting while driving does NOT mix.

 

I am getting more close calls from those driving with a cell phone. They are not paying attention. A accident waiting to happen.  But I can not stop cycling just becuase of bad decisions from drivers. That also includes other cyclist using the roads.

 

How about people crossing the street???? Putting them in danger also. Including kids crossing the street! One of these days it could be someone you know that got hurt from someone talking or texting on a cell while driving.

 

So I will be very happy if this becomes law in NJ for March 1st, 2008.

A peice of road was ripped up on the Garden State Parkway North Bound. Someplace around mile marker 136. Center and to the left of the area . . . .. the ground was ripped up. I know....Because I was in the car where traffic slow down out of no where. Could cause a accident.

 

I guess the Parkway crew never finished the job with paveing. No signs or warning of the ripped up small area. I bet if you gone at 55MPH speed. Could blow out tires for sure or might lose control the car.

Reading the story in the New Jersey Star Ledger the other day!!

 

A driver making a illegal u-turn in Branch Brook Park in Newark. A motorcyclist slams into the car the made the u-turn. NOT LEGAL to make a u-turn!! Not matter where you are on a street.

 

I was cycling on my bicycle and saw a few cars in Bloomfield and Montclair making illegal u-turns. Including a box truck in Bloomfield.

 

Something must be done about the drivers making illegal u-turns. New York and New Jersey.

HEY FOLKS,

Had to use that title for this blog!

I cycle everywhere. I am seeing more and more drivers driving and talking on cell phones. One hand on the wheel and the other holding a cell phone as they (YOU) drive. I get in close calls with drivers not paying attention. Because these drivers (you) are on the darn phone while driving.

The closest one was during the spring of 2006. A driver goes past me and cuts me off out of no where. No blinkers either! This lady was on the cell phone. Was inches of hitting the car. The ding-dong lady kept on going with that right hand turn.

So please stop driving while talking on the cell. Holding the cell in one hand and driving with the other.

A driver (you) won't stop till something bad happens.

Drivers (you) are a danger!!
