I must be honest I didn't even realize there was a faith blog. How cool.

Anyway, have any of you read "The Shack" yet? I've been hearing so much about it and it's number two on Amazon.

I heard an interview with the author who said he wrote the story for his kids as a Christmas present never meaning it to be published and now it's got the whole Christian community it seems, talking about it.

I plan to read it but I'm still a little hesitant about the subject matter.

Let me know what you think.

Dari

Dear Dari,
I checked this book out on Amazon.com and it is a little too deep for me. Since you have a Bachelor's degree in Politics let talk about that. I am a liberal Democrat. I voted for Gore in 2000 and Kerry in 2004. The only hope for this country is if Barack Obama is elected President. As an education reporter you must find it disgraceful how the Bush administration is spending billions in Iraq and very little on schools here. The Republicans would rather spend money on bombs to kill people than spend money to help people. 54 million Americans and rising that can't get Health Insurance because they have preexisting conditions and take medication. With all the money we have spent in Iraq we could have paid for Universal Health Insurance for everybody. But the Republicans refuse to spend money to help people. Their answer always is we must worker harder to get what we need. This sickins me. The problem is it is not a level playing field. The rich and well connected under George Bush are doing better than ever. The middle class is being eliminated and the poor are getting poorer. We have little or no gun control laws in our states so our best leaders end up getting assassinated. I'm talking about J.F.K. and R.F.K. and Martin Luther King. So the choice is clear, if you want change and life to get better vote for Barack Obama. If you want life to get worse and be in Iraq for the next 20 years vote for John McCain. I would be interested in hearing what you think about all this. Also I think you are beautiful and a pleasure to watch on TV. Seeing you makes news enjoyab

The Shack was a GREAT book - I finished it a while back and have been pitching it to everyone!

You can take or leave what you read in it but it is a brilliant book.

Dari-
Maybe this isn't the place, but I didn't know where would be...
May I ask what your ethnic background is?
I see you have a degree in Spanish literature, could that actually mean you're spanish?
Has anyone ever told you you look middle-eastern? And quite beautiful too I might add.
I've followed your career for a number of years now.
Thanks,
Robert
