What the Ministry of Truth in Orwell's mythical land of Oceania did to the language in "1984"--"Newspeak"-- the far right & left in American politics have tried, with considerable success, to do in 21st century America with the consent, and in some cases, assistance of the news media, as it would seem from the article on the CONNECTICUT POST'S front page of 1/6/09. "(Bridgeport, CT. Mayor)Finch Pleads For Help."

"Finch and other leaders said "there are many creative ways to enchance local revenues." Newspeak for "Let's sock it to the public."

Froggie-de-bleu

"Froggie-de-bleu" is the nom de blog-guerre of Michel Yquem le Savarin, E. F., whose new paintings signals his long-awaited return to the art scene. One collector wrote, "I own a number of paintings by Michel le Savarin, and also works by other artists, some quite prominent. However, among all the art on my walls the Savarins are clearly different and special. I know that authorities and critics have proclaimed that Savarin has originated a unique style all his own. But the genius of Savarin goes beyond style or craft; each of his works, with a magic not easily defined, invites us into a place, a time, that is irresistibly charming. Although I have had Savarins in my home for years I still find it impossible to pass one without pausing, if only for a moment, to enjoy the special enchantment it imparts." Stewart Bronfeld, Author, TV Producer-Director P. S. We are adding new works by our alter ego, Mony Vibescu de Brouillard, named after the Romanian Prince, hero of Guillaume Apollinaire's immortal satire, "Les Onze Mille Vierges", a book banned in the U. S. for many years but smuggled in by intrepid travelers.
