HEY INES,

I am glad I do not drive. I ride my bicycle all over town. LOL!

NYC can keep the traffic.

Now that there are more cars then ever. Bikers has to be more careful. No matter where you live.

I have to train for MS bike tours and then cycle in the Multiple Sclerosis bike tours. I have one in May. It is 170 miles. Have to be more careful in bike tours also.

So I hope traffic is not bad when it comes to tour time in May.

Everyone should try cycling to work! he-he-he-he!!

Bike Mike is on the air!!

Just came back from seeing the Pope In DC... and I thought Northern VA traffic was bad before.... imagine how it was with the Pope in DC... glad i don't have to deal with that anymore... lol well... I'll be in VA the rest of the weekend visiting the family... great weather for outdoor activities... we really needed it.

Yes I do have a long drive... well.. I did, not anymore. Just moved to Somerset, pretty close to New Brunswick. You are right... Hoboken has some great dining and bars... great place to live and have a good time.. but couldn't deal with the traffic. Well... now I have New Brunswick round the corner.... it's no Hoboken, but it'll do.. haha...
Where in Jersey did u grow up in? would u happen to know any good places round here to go to? how bout any latin clubs/lounges that you might recommend?

CycleMike how are you??? You are right bicyclist need to be careful now more than ever, in the city when I'm leaving they are going so fast that if I don't keep an eye out for them there will be problems. They just come out of no where! Sorry but I can't take my bike work, so unsafe!! Today will be a beautiful day according to Mike Woods to ride
your bike around town.

MileHighPatriot, do I also get to see the other tourist attractions in Denver too? :)

Soccerguy I grew up in Belleville, still there actually. Good places to go hmmm, in Brunswick I don't know any. By me depends what you are looking for. These days I go to Sushi Lounge on Rt 46, good food and crowd. Very Loungy crowd, don't get me wrong I like clubs, but lately haven't gone to any. Latin clubs I've heard West New York has good ones, and Diva Lounge in Montclair on Thursday night. The thing with some Latin Nights is that it is really Hip Hop night. Hey there's a good blog subject!

Jeff, I'm with you TV is the best way to see the pope.

Ines,

How did you insert that video? That's so cool. LOTS of information there. I am sure it is helpful to many people. You must be so busy today.

I love Manhattan and sometimes think I would like to live there but on gridlock alert days like these I am happy to be on Long Island.

How adventurous are you with sushi? I stick with the basics. I think it may be a generational thing. My daughters are always trying to get me to experiment with different things but I am a bit leery.

Is it just me or is NJ a tricky place to get around for non-residents? I mostly go there for Atlantic City, the shore in summer and the Meadowlands (the racetrack, arena and stadium) and I seem to get lost a lot! Getting into the Meadowlands is pretty easy but I end up going in circles trying to get out.

I was brought to a Latin Night club in Westbury by a young lady a couple of years ago and it was fantastic. It definitely was a true Latin Night, not a Hip Hop night.

I hope you have a really nice weekend.

Good morning and happy Friday. Every night is Latin night in my neighborhood! As far as the subway goes, today was, ironically, the fastest train ride I've had in months. I grabbed the 2 at 3rd Avenue and switched to the 4 at Grand Concourse without a single delay. I set the timer on my iPod when I walked through the turnstile at 3rd Avenue and shut it off when I walked out of the turnstile at 59th street. Total time between turnstiles was 18 minutes and 32 seconds and that was with a train change. I average about 26 minutes for the same trip every day. If this is what happens to the subways when the Pope comes, he should come more often.

Ines, you are my reason for getting up early in the morning! Really enjoyed your feature story on the papal visit traffic this morning...they should let you do more of that type of reporting.

One more thing...will you marry me??? :o)

Hi Inez.Nice to see you in the blogs.I agree with you and my Big Brute Jeff.Rather than drive in to what is basically Marshall Law in New York while the Pope is here we've been watching it on T.V.Jeff's too shy to ask but he's wondering why Christina hasn't been in the blogs recently. He likes sharing pearls of wisdom with her and misses her terribly !!

Good morning Nena.
I'm not sure if this thread is still alive so I will also post it in the most recent thread as well.
Finally saw "21" on Saturday night. It was GOOD, very entertaining, very involving but just a little too slick and hard to believe.
Sorry about the Devils, maybe next season.
Did you get your eyebrows done? They look a little lighter or thinner this morning or maybe it's just my TV. Nice sweater top, you look very sleek again today. I wasn't crazy about that yellow top on Friday, the color was nice on you but the puffy shoulders didn't suit you, just my opinion, maybe others liked it.
My daughters love hearts as well and they also favor crosses and peace-signs.
NY survived the Pope traffic!!!! Thanks from everybody in the NY area.
Be good and take care.

That's right we survived Pope Traffic...Phew. I'm glad you found that Pope Traffic package very useful.
Sanctus, you are so right about getting to work being so much easier. I left the city rather quickly too! Hmm, maybe there's something here with helping alleviate congestion to the city. Not saying close the street, but obviously people changed their commute for this.

IRFan...My girl WNYWKathy did me the favor of posting that video. I would of never been able to figure that out on my own! Sushi is definetly a generational thing because until the last two years I've developed an appetite for it. NJ can be tricky to get around I must admit, but if you do pay attention you should be ok. I actually haven't gotten my eyebrows done, maybe the make up artist did something different. I find it funny you're comment on the yellow top with the puffy sleeves. I normally dont' wear stuff like that, with that jacket I try to flatten them a lil so they aren't as drastic as some can be.

Mrs. Movieman, I gave Christina Mr. Movieman's message. I miss seeing her insights too.

Ted1 have a great day!! See you in the morning!

Ines,

All week we have beautiful, warm, sunny weather and now that you get some brand-new clothes with the weekend coming and I am set to pick up my brand-new convertible tomorrow morning (Saturday), that I have been waiting for about 6 weeks -- here comes the rain and cool weather. What a burn!

I will TRY to insert a pic of the car I am getting, let me know if you like it. I am getting it in black (2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GT).

Hey Ines!! Long time no see.... sorry.. been mad busy...
I know exactly what you mean... I guess we all grow out of the crazy club scene at some point time, although I still do enjoy to go to a nice club to dance, but don't do it to "hook up" anymore.. more kinda do it just 'cause I love to dance i guess... so just go out with friends..hehe but you are right... when it turns into "hip hop night" it's kinda ehh.... takes the fun out of it... gotta have some salsa at some time rite?
You know.. I think I have been to Sushi Lounge a couple weeks... very classy place... great environment... I have also been to a club round there.. I think it's called club 46 or something like that... wasn't to bad.
Well Ines.. hope u have a great weekend... make the best out of it ;) bye.

Lol, you owe me one... I don't commute so a traffic forecast won't do... you'll just have to find another way to repay me.

Ines,

Hope you haven't given up blogging, it was fun to get "BONUS INES" when GDNY was over. I'm not always good at returning phone calls or e-mails myself, especially when I am busy and you were very busy today, lots of traffic news this morning.

The show has been better than ever lately. There appears to be great chemistry among everybody. The casual corporate fashion show on Tuesday was great. Your reaction to the fashion consultants comments that you are "a little ample on top" was adorable, I was laughing so hard. Did they let you keep the outfit?, it looked good on you, especially the boots. Jodi and the fashion consultant were both very complimentary.

I know you are THE New York Traffic Authority but is there any chance you will be doing other things on the show in the future? I think you would be great doing interviews or features on the show. My guess is that in a few years you will be co-hosting some kind of morning or afternoon show. You would be great with Regis but he already has Kelly and he is getting kind of old but he has had many co-hosts over the years. I hope they are paying you well there, I can't believe how much you said you pay in tolls per month and with gas so high, WOW!, it costs you so much just to get to work!!!

Keep having fun and take care.

HEY INES,

I have a bike tour this weekend. 170 miles from Monmouth University in West Long Branch, NJ to U.S. Coast Guard Station in Cape May, NJ. I raised so far $2,081.00 for Multiple Sclerosis. Still climbing!! Hope to hit $2,200.00 before the MS bike tour.

I hope the weather and roads are not bad when the tour begins saturday. The craziest road I know of is route 35 south between Point Pleasant and Seaside Heights. The shoulder stinks between them two points along the shoulder. Some bikers take a risk by cycling on the left side of the solid white line.

Oh, the bike tour is May 17 and 18, 2008.

To help raise money for Multiple Sclerosis of course. Been doing this particular MS chpater bike tour since 1993. Have no plans on stopping either. Then the next MS bike tour this year is Sept. 13 and 14, 2008.

Anyone like to pledge and help me reach my goal.
