In case you haven't heard, City Councilman Tony Avella wants to ban horse drawn carriages in The City because of concerns of cruelty to animals.

I would like your honest response to a simple question:

Should the City ban horse drawn carriages due to cruelty to animals or should the City ban The City Council due to cruelty to it's citizens?

Remember I said honest answer!

John

I would vote for a ban on the City Council! I love horses and I am not personally fond of the horse-drawn carriages in Central Park, but I think banning them is ridiculous. I would like to see a few less of them, especially in the summer and it would be nice if they would abide by the traffic lights in Central Park. Isn't Mr. Avella another one of our fine local politicians who is against term limits? Not having strict term limits would be an example of cruelty to the tax paying public!

Yes, they should ban any type of animal cruelty! Most animals are innocent and compliant like children. They are not corrupt and never set out to give us grief. So why can't we give them the same courtesy?
Just because we are more intelligent, doesn't give us the right to cause suffering to any of God's creatures; especially for personal gain.

Get rid of the liberal dinwits! The horsedrawn carriages are a tradition and doesn't hurt hte horses in any way. The horses are bred and trained to do that.

no, they should let them stay.. Just think what would have been said 100 years ago if they tried this?? Seems that they have lost their way and need to be ousted for some people who have common sense..
