Tuesday: Patchy fog from Monday night will last into Tuesday morning making it a tricky commute in some areas. The fog will quickly burn off during the morning as the strong June sun goes to work. We'll then enjoy a mix of sun and clouds for the afternoon as our temperatures quickly rise into the low to mid 80's across the area. It will feel a bit warmer than that with all the humidity in the air. Coastal locations will be a bit cooler as a seabreeze keeps highs in the 70's. Scattered thunderstorms will then dot the area tomorrow afternoon and evening as a cold front moves into the area from the northwest. Behind the front Tuesday night, a refreshing northwesterly breeze will bring in much drier air giving us a comfortably cool night.

Wednesday: We'll wake up to a clear, crisp, cool morning on Wednesday. Temperatures will start out in the 40's in northern and western suburbs and in the 50's in the city and coastal locations. Under sunny skies, temperatures will reach a comfortably warm range in the mid to upper 70's during the afternoon. A light northwesterly breeze will continue to bring dry air into the region through the day.

Thursday: Thursday will be nearly a carbon copy of Wednesday. We'll enjoy a cool, crisp morning followed by a comfortably warm afternoon with high temperatures in the upper 70's. One subtle difference will be a few high clouds that will share the sky with the sun as a warm front passes by to our northwest. One other difference will be a shift in our wind to a southerly direction which will have implications for Friday.

Friday: Friday will bring a return to warm and slightly more humid weather. We'll start out slightly milder with morning temperatures in the 50's and 60's across the area. Under a mix of sun and clouds, temperatures will reach the low to mid 80's for afternoon highs as a southwest wind brings in warmer air. Scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms will return to the forecast on Friday as another cold front moves into the area from the northwest.

Hi John,
Are you enjoying your surfing out there?!
Why in the world did it turn so cold last night! Not complaining but it felt like fall!

Thanks LFF, I only missed last week with my weekly forecast. I'll have it up and post any changes. When Mike is out in the field, I am very busy!!

And SDS- The high pressure brought air from southern Canada into our area. The air was cool and dry. Dry air will cool off very quickly at night, especially with clear skies and light wind. When the skies are clear and there is little wind at night, the ground can let off the heat it absorbed during the day, or radiate it away. That is what is known as radiational cooling. Clouds and wind at night act as a blanket. They stop the heat from radiating away into the atmosphere and temperatures stay up at night.

Cross your fingers for Saturday's weather. It appears most of the clouds and showers will exit during the morning allowing sunshine to return during the afternoon. A low pressure will move up the cold front just to our east, however, and may keep clouds and a few showers in the area especially in eastern suburbs. It could be a tale of 2 tri-states tomorrow, with plenty of sun in western suburbs and plenty of clouds in eastern suburbs.

Well the tale of 2 tri-states held because it was cloudy with occasional light rain on L.I. saturday.
