So I'm guessing that folks are getting a little tired of all this soggy, cool weather we've seen as of late here in the tri-state.  And what's worse is we have the holiday weekend coming up quickly!  Yes, it's the unofficial start to summer, just a short two days away... Memorial Day Weekend!

And now for the good news.  High pressure will be building in Friday and lasting through the weekend.  What that means for us is this is not only going to be a good weekend, but it's going to be a GREAT ONE!!  Expect a lot of sunshine with highs in the low to mid 70s.  We may even see some upper 70s toward the end of the holiday weekend... but trust me!!  That water out at the beaches is still going to have a nip as it is a little early in the season.  But whatever it is that you plan on doing... enjoy!!!

Hi Mike,

Yes, you are correct in saying we are getting tired of this soggy cool weather.
Last year at this time, I had my air condioners in the windows already... So I guess I can save on the CON Ed bill now..LOL

I have a beach party and BBQ this weekend. I see the weather will be nice, so I look forward to the long weekend. Kudoos to you :)

You're a traveling man, where are you headed this lovely weekend?

Call me crazy but I've been enjoyong these pass couple of weeks, huge relief for we allergy sufferers! But I do look forward to the holiday weekend. Right now, no plans?, but I know someone will throw a barbecue, so I'm playing it by ear.

Looking forward to the great weather coming up! Thanks for working your magic to make it happen on the weekend, especially a 3-day one! Hey, what's up with the side comments from Reid about your age? I heard him this morning in the 5 am hour about your age and rubbing in that he's younger - something about hair styles. For those of us approaching 40 and aren't afraid of it he better be careful for he to will be 40 soon. Make sure you get a comment in tomorrow about it.

Mike, I think you are such a humble guy!! and good on the eyes! my 6 year old loves watching you in the morning!!! she sings the song "you are my sunshine" everytime you are on :-) Love watching you in the morning while I am running aroud like crazy trying to get everything ready, you make it a bit easier with your accurate report!!! bye bye "sunshine"

Mike! Enough with the rain already!!
Do you have any idea how difficult is is to write comedy in this stuff? People are crying at my punch lines! Hell, I'm crying at my punch lines! Have a great weekend and don't foget our TROOPS!!
BTW, tell Jodie she looked GREAT on not only the red carptet, but in all of her coverage...

Hey Mike,

I watch and enjoy you every morning. I work out and stay in shape and have to say you are an inspiration to us guys near or over 40. You might be able to tell by my name that I am a big Ines fan. I know she feels so bad that she got you stuck in traffic using that alternate route on Thursday (she told the story on her blog). It was so cute the way she said, "Unfortunately traffic isn't a science and there's only so much I can see and know." She is so sweet and you can tell she really feels bad. You guys get along great together and I know you won't hold it against her so maybe send the girl a text or something and tell her all is OK. And as Ines said, thanks for the great weather!

Lisa pleeze save me some ribs..lol!

Although yesterday's showers TRIED to ruin my day, it failed. Despite getting a little wet the day was a success.SO HOORAY!! Besides we were under a HUGE tent, so the majority was ok! (I'll post the pics over this long weekend)

Mike Woods joined Fox 5 in June 2001 as the morning meteorologist for "Good Day New York" and "Midday News." In addition to providing accurate forecasts, he periodically works as a feature reporter. Woods is originally from Sacramento, California but has been moving all about the country since 1993. His first job landed him in Eastern North Carolina, where he worked as the morning and noon weather anchor. While in North Carolina, he covered several hurricanes, including Bertha and Fran in 1996. Before heading to the Big Apple, he spent some time giving hot forecasts in the deserts of Phoenix, Arizona.Woods graduated from U.C. Davis with a degree in Rhetoric and Communications, and he also has a strong background in meteorology. He is an AMS seal holder and was nominated for an Emmy for best weather forecast for the Southwest region.Woods enjoys racquetball, biking, hiking, snow skiing, water skiing and working out in the gym. He has been featured in Muscle and Fitness magazine in the "Real People" column. Mike also does a lot of charitable work with the community, especially with local schools and children's organizations.
