Forty years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated. As we mark the anniversary, how far do you think we've come as a nation in fulfilling Dr. King's mission? Has there been enough progress?

I think there has been some progress, but not nearly enough. Each generation, white and black, is better educated, informed and more aware, but we still have a ways to go!Discrimination IS and will ALWAYS be poisonous.

Only certain areas of the nation have changed. Sadly, when I visit my brother in Tennessee, I'm literally taking a step back in time when it comes to racism. I have to remind myself how fortunate I really am to have grown up in New England.

We all should go down south to spread the word of EQUALITY.

The nation has come a long way in trying to fulfill Dr. Kings mission. We now have equality in the races. There is still some progress to be made, but in 40 years we have accomplished a lot.

We've come a long way as evidenced by the candidacy of Barack Obama, but statististics such as the drop-out and incarceration rates for African-American males show that much work still needs to be done to realize Dr. Kings dream.

Our nation has made his dream. Our country came a long way. We need a man like him for our other bug problems in the world.

We have become a nonviolent nation while Dr.Martin Luther King Jr was alive. But since the assassination. His mission has failed because he did not have enough progress to finish the chaos that is now happening.

The way we tend to look away at some of the race issues we face today makes me feel like his death was in vain. There is onlY ONE race THE HUMAN RACE we are all equal. There are many cultures.

Equal rights have come along way. Forty years ago it was a dream for an African American to become President of the United States. Now, it may be a reality. The dream of people being civil to one another should be the next goal.

Psychological warfare is serious! Just because the tools used to attack have been changed, the ignorance that allows there to be a need for an "Affirmative Action", or laws like that clearly show the people that are aware, that things haven't gotten any better, just the modes of combat used to suppress a certain group of people has changed! A young Black child was charged for shooting a duck today... Isn't this country famous for images of white men hunting ducks with hound dogs?

Thanks to Dr. King, and all who believe in his dream, we have come a long way as a nation, but we still have a long way to go.

Any dream for racial equality will not be realized so long as racists like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Maxine Waters and Rev. Wright exist.
