Jobas fist pump does not show up the other teams. He is so pumped up in the moment with the crowd and the situation he cannot stop his emotions when he does something good

No, his fist pump doesn't show up the other teams. I think it's great that he shows his emotions and his excitement of the game. Maybe those who feel they are being shown up should worry about their game and not someone else.

Joba's fist pump doesn't necessarily show up the other team in big games like the playoffs, but it is a little much at the beginning of the season.

No it does not show up the other team because he doesnt look at the batter when he does it and he's young and has a lot of energy so there's nothing wrong with showing emotion. It's not like Manny when he hits a homerun and just stands and looks at the ball. Now thats showing off to the other team.

He did nothing wrong. I'm glad he did. There is no crying in baseball, when did we all become of sensitive at ball games?

As a former player i find it ludacris that people find this offensive. I would not want someone on my team that does not get that excited about the game. Keep it up Joba.

Absolutely not. Joba brings a new kind of young enthusiasm to baseball and he certainly gets caught up in the emotions of the moment. He is a passionate player and that is what is needed in sports. There is absolutely nothing wrong with his fist-pumping and he should continue to do it.

Since he is a young guy, this is fine; however, he should not to do for the rest of his career.

Remember how upset the Marlins were at the Mets with the celebrating? I'll cut him slack now but sooner or later, Joba needs to become adult Joba!

By the way, this is coming from a Mets fan just so you know about my bias

He is young, energetic and excited to be a Yankee. He is doing great. The other teams are just a bunch of sore losers because they are being struckout. He means no harm, he is just enthusiastic.

No it doesnt show up the other team. People that think that are just jealous because we got a better pitcher on our team. HA

Does Joba's fist pump show up the other team? Does spiking a football show up the other team? Does Tiger Woods show up the other golfers when he pumps his fist? His is a competitor and is fired up. This has nothing to do with the other team, only his competitive fire.

NO! This is a trait that comes with this young amazing pitcher. a fist pump is like a goal celebration in hockey or a touchdown dance. Baseball is just like any ither sport with alot of emotion

To ALL the JOBA Haters out there, I have this to say to you: Take your strike out like a man and stop worrying about Joba's fist pump. You're lucky he's not throwing his fist at you like he does his 101MPH fastball..............JOBA RUUUUULES!!!!!....move over MC Hammer cause It's Joba Time!!!!........Can't Touch this!!!!

No one ever complained when players flicking the bat after hitting a home run so why cant the pitcher show his satisfaction after striking someone out? Let the poor guy.

The only way I see this becoming a problem is if the fist pumping makes Joba's palms to be too hairy to pitch.

The fist pump was genuine emotion on Joba's part and not an attempt to show anyone up. Keep in mind that he is a rookie and not a four-year veteran, so as getting big outs in tight situations becomes more routine for him the future we'll probably see less of the fist pump.
