As much has already been said about the stellar final performance of
such a talent as whom I now will refer to as Heath Ledg-end--I will try not to reiterate the reflections of others and just reflect on those of my own......
As difficult as it may be for his family and friends to imagine that he was taken sosoon....too soon--they MUST take comfort in knowing that their dear Heath did not leave this Earth before making a meteor sized mark in the history of Cinema.
His disturbing, ironic, humoristic and fatalistic performance left me dumbfounded--leaving meto happily forget for a couple of moments that he was no longer with us.
But there were a couple of scenes that were all tooo eerie and ironic, considering that he passed not long after finishing the filming of The Dark Knight...particularly one scene with Aaron Eckhart in the hospital, where Two Face, egged on by the Joker, daring him to see if he has it in him to kill him--puts a gun to the Joker's head and eerily says, "Heads you LIVE, tails you DIE." I couldn't help but get a cold shiver up my spine and felt tears well up in my eyes--only imagining how Mr. Eckhart must have felt upon hearing of Mr. Leger's untimely death.
The Joker wasn't the only one left hanging in the end of The Dark Knight........
All who witnessed Heath Ledger's outstanding performance were left wondering.......

As well as being a sports officianado...Tim Russert was also a bigfan of Rock and Roll--and Bruce Springsteen.Well the "Boss" sent Tim off to the bigger "Boss" by dedicatingThunder Road to him last night in Paris.Bruce said that he will miss looking into the crowd and seeing his "big smiling face".......This sentiment I'm sure will be resonating through the minds of many who were devoted fans and friends of Mr. Russert's--because Sundays will never be the same without his warm, humble and inviting countenance, that helped us make sense of a world gone mad with ugliness, ego and power.
Here are two Celtic proverbs that apply to men like Tim Russert and to those who can't shine their shoes...

"Sex and the City" has become, for some, the "Holy Grail" of the idea of modern, successful and powerful women.
It has, in it's duality of reality and fantasy, bi-polarized the minds of women of ALL walks and financial status by reflecting, at once, an image of independent power, female sensibilities and transvestite chic.
As a lifelong female NY'er, I find myself caught between the quintessential "rock and a hard place" with the overall message of "Sex and the City"....
REAL N.Y( and other) women DO react, emote, fantasize, fight, love and hate not dissimilarly to Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda. But aside from the Manolos and Upper East Side WASPY/JAPPY Scoopy-chic---REAL N.Y women of any substance DO NOT DRESS LIKE TRANSVESTITES AT A MARDI GRAS CELEBRATION!!Patricia Field, I believe, has failed miserably in portraying an honest, stylish and chic reflection of the savvy fashion sense of we who reside in the greatest city in the world and with it, weakened the image that NY has set as the "fashion capital of the world." Sadly, this over-the-top, tran-NY reflection of fashion has made it's mark in middle America and can be seen in ALL of it's over accessorized, gaudy glory on women and girls of all ages.
In the end, "Sex and the City" has moved mountains for women with regards to self-esteem, individuality, and empowerment. But it has created an unrealistic ideal for these same women, who have always looked to NYC and it's women as the beacons of style, sophistication and trend-setting fashion.
"Priscilla Queen of the Desert" meets "The Devil Wears Prada" is far from the example that the producers of "Sex and the City" should have aspired to.
Maybe that's why their "New Line" was not such a success.....
The next "Sex and the City" needs to be "patterned" and "re-fitted" in the scheme of the savviest women of the greatest city in the world......Gail Simon

I don't know about anyone else---BUT I am SOOOO incensed by the absolutely hypocritical behavior and greed shown by specifically the film and television writers--as well as the hypocritical actors and hollywood fat cats that are the instigators of the strike.
When ACTORS such as George Clooney and Don Cheadle are accepting awards for their "humanitarian good works"---they and others are defining the word "hypocrite."
For how can they preach the gospel of helping those afflicted by famine, war, poverty, natural disasters, political and religious opression--when they are showing such ingratitude for what God has given them!Does ANYONE in Hollywood REALLY think that ANY of the victims of the causes they so publicly support would stick their nose up at EVEN 1/1000TH OF THE MONEY THAT THEY MAKE?????!!!!!THEY SHOULD ALL BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES AND BE THANKFUL THAT THEY HAVE JOBS AND ARE ABLE TO LIVE THE LIVES THAT THEY LIVE!!!!MAY BE IF THEY PULLED THEIR HEADS OUT OF THEIR SANCTIMONIOUS REAR ENDS, THEY WOULD SEE HOW ABSOLUTELY APPALLING IT IS FOR THEM IN THESE TIMES--WHEN SO MANY THROUGHOUT THE WORLD ARE SUFFERING--HOMELESS--HUNGRY--WITH NO MEDICAL CARE---TO HAVE THE NAUSEATING HYPOCRISY TO WHINE ABOUT EXTRA MONEY!!!!
I THINK AMERICANS SHOULD BOYCOTT THE MOVIES( INCLUDING RENTALS AND PURCHASES OF DVDS) AND AS MUCH AS THEY CAN--TV--TO MAKE THESE INGRATES UNDERSTAND WHAT IT FEELS LIKE---AND WE SHOULD TAKE THE MONEY THAT WE SPEND FOR 1 DVD OR RENTAL OR MOVIE TICKET AND DONATE IT TO A CHARITY THAT SUPPORTS THOSE IN NEED.
I- for one--who sees at least 3 films week--am sooo disgusted that I am going to boycott the movies and practice what I preach!
I have to ask.....
HOLLWOOD?? DARFUR? WHAT-FUR?? WHY DO YOU BOTHER TO PROTEST YOUR CONCERN FOR THE WELFARE OF THE OPRESSED WHEN YOU CAN NOT APPRECIATE WHAT GOD HAS GIVEN YOU???!!

I believe that I am quite open minded when it comes to comedy of all types and can find humor even in some of the most raunchy routines and films.
But I have to admit that the "Heartbreak Kid" left me feeling as if I was in an adult theatre watching a strange Swedish porno flick.
Beastiality, racial stereotyping of African American men, assorted slang forms of descriptions of sexual acts, one character urinating on another etc etc etc.....AND PEOPLE BROUGHT THEIR CHILDREN!!!
Granted, their were some quite funny scenes in the film, but for the most part I kept catching myself asking "this is VULGAR AND TASTELESS...why are you laughing stupid!"
This movie has given new meaning to the term "adult comedy"........
It should be called an "Adult Come-edy".....
Those expecting a cutesy Ben Stiller romantic comedy are in for a BIG surprise!
If the Farrelly brothers were trying to do a modern take on Fellini-they SCREW-ED UP!

Most red blooded Americans who like to watch adult films like to do so in the privacy of their own homes.
Y'all might want to wait for the DVD...it'll help when you feel the need to act like a porn star with your signifigant other....

I have always had respect for Helen Mirren as an actor....that is now history.
Not only did Ms. Mirren insult ALL Americans in one swift, condescending move--but she also simultaneously bit the MILLIONS of hands that feed her and pay MILLIONS from their pockets for both movie tickets and cable subsriptions.
In line with Ms. Mirren's insulting, biased and arrogant comments....I would like to return the favor and say.....
You, Ms. Mirren are wonderfully gifted actress. You are a lot of other things as well...Arrogant, biased, ungrateful, classless, rude. You may have played a "Queen" ...but you have the grace, manners and political correctness of a sow.
You may not need acting lessons, but you certainly should look into taking some etiquette courses.....
It seems that you are missing the "proper" English manners chip.....
You need to be "re-booted"...........

Al Gore's son, Al Jr. was arrested for going over 100 miles an hour down the San Diego Freeway at 2am while under the influence of a well known "green" plant substance with the nom de fume MARIJUANA.
It was the second such arrest for the Jr. Gore, apart from other run ins with the law for similar alcohol/illegal substances.
The young Gore is the editor of GOOD magazine for young philanthropists. GOOD? That is subject to interpretation. Having to post a bond of $20,000.00 for having an illegal substance in your car is NOT what I would define as a GOOD thing. And I don't think that marijuana is the GREEN that has made his daddy go from old school to hip and cool!
But HEY! It's Al Jr.! The( marijuana smoke ) rising son of our former Vice President and now "put the fear of God" into us Hollywood heavyweight.( literally)
Maybe poor Al just had a stroke of bad luck by running into "Republicops" who are loyal to their leader the "Governator" Arnold Schwarznegger......
Al. if you wanted to take MARY JANE for a ride, you should have taken her parking.
