TSA doesn't completely screen flight personnel, they only do a light check. I was flying out of Laguardia and I noticed the flight crew going through and NOT removing their shoes. I pointed this oversight out to the TSA and he actually "cursed" at me for doing so. I was shocked. He said and I quote "Don't tell me how to do my ****ing job, I don't come to your job and tell you how to do it." I was with my fiance "Linda" who can verify this story. In this day and age, even with the workers at JFK who were plotting to blow the place up, why are they not checking their own? Being a veteran, this is a MAJOR flaw in the system. Do an undercover story on this gap in their security...you won't believe it!

i fly through ewr continually.........have been through many airport securities all over .....will say that unfortunately, ewr, is not up to standard in so many ways compared to other airports. There is something so weirdly different about ewr staff........no one is happy ever..no one is that helpful no one much knows anything to be honest......they are all like DUH WHATEVER .....i get that eveyone is working there to make a living which is understandable but no one is really INTO the concept of security........WE NEED MILITARY IN AIRPORTS i tell everyone i know, HEY IF YOU HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE? YOU SHOULD BE DAMN HAPPY THERE IS OVERWHELMING SECURITY AT EVERY POINT IN AN AIRPORT bring it on! i wish we had the security in EWR that they have in Israel paranoid? YAH whatever, GOOOD i am flying and i want to be safe end of story get with the program EWR

Mr. Deutzman, I worked for the tsa in the past and I witnessed first hand, some of the illegal actions conducted by some tsa employees. Even though the tsa has been around for eight years, there is still a lot of cracks in the system that need immediate repairs. Such as the screening process for checked luggage. Very easy to sneak something pass the system.

There are many experts in many areas of our government. However, it seems to have become standard procedure for these areas of government (TSA included) to have people in charge who are incompetent rather than expert. They achieve their positions politically, financially, or by some other measure instead of by knowledge & expertise.
Experts are nothing but tools that the elites can hire. Obama appointed about 40 Czars etc. that fit this description: a tax evader in charge of the IRS, an avowed Communist who has no business being in our government, the head of Homeland Security who thinks that 9/11 was a Human Caused Disaster instead of an act of Terrorism, et al. This ruling elite includes the private sector of our nation as well.
No matter how important an area of control may be, competence is not the main priority.
The TSA personnel who do the inspecting need to be people who are strong, healthy, ready to engage suspects, and have the ability and authority to detain and arrest suspects at once. Having to call the police from who knows where, and wait 5 minures for their arrival, is utter stupidity in this day and age. The American people need to take back their country, in this and all other areas.
